TICKETS for the 2010 Soccer World Cup will go on sale from February next year the Local Organising Committee has announced
Three million tickets are expected to go on sale and will range in price. The tickets are promised to be affordable for South African citizens as well as be competitive with former tournament prices.
Ticket prices will start from as little as US$20 and range up to US$900 for those matches in greater demand. Tickets will also be offered in South African Rand.
The three million tickets to go on sale will only be available to those residing in South Africa and constitute around 15% of all the tickets for 2010.
South Africa’s ‘nation builders’, those that helped with the development of stadiums and infrastructure for the tournaments, will also be afforded free tickets with the Fifa-initiated responsibility programme that will give away 120 000 tickets.
Tickets will be available from Fifa’s website as well as from various outlets around the country and on request internationally.
Further phases of ticket sales have not yet been announced.
